How to Make Text Bigger on Your Phone (iPhone & Android)

Many seniors find the text on their phones too small to read comfortably. The good news is that you can adjust the font size in just one minute to make everything clearer. This guide will walk you through the process for both iPhones and Android devices.
For iPhone Users

  1. Open the Settings app (the gray gear icon) on your home screen.
  2. Scroll down and tap Display & Brightness.
  3. Tap Text Size.
  4. Drag the slider to the right to make text larger, or to the left to make it smaller.
  5. Adjust it to the size that feels most comfortable for you. The change will take effect immediately!

💡 Extra Tips:

  • If you want even bolder text, go back to Display & Brightness and toggle on Bold Text.
  • You can also use the Zoom feature in Accessibility to magnify the entire screen.
For Android Users (Samsung, Google Pixel, LG, etc.)
  1. Open the Settings app on your home screen.
  2. Tap Display or Display & Brightness.
  3. Look for Font Size or Text Size.
  4. You can choose from preset sizes (Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large) or drag a slider to adjust the size.
  5. Your changes will save automatically.

💡 If you can’t find the setting, use the search bar at the top of Settings and type “Font Size” to jump directly to the option.
What Will Change?

Adjusting the font size will make text larger in:

  • Text messages and contacts
  • Apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, and your web browser
  • Menus and buttons on your phone

This makes reading news, using apps, and staying connected with family much easier on your eyes.
If You Accidentally Make Text Too Big…

Don’t worry! Just follow the same steps to go back to the Font Size setting and adjust the slider to a smaller size. You can change it as many times as you want until it’s perfect for you.
